Built in 1887, the Hamilton County Courthouse is still in use and serving Hamilton County. The courthouse was expanded in 1932 with locally quarried limestone. The Hamilton, Texas landmark has been recognized beyond Texas and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
