The Tower of the Americas in San Antonio appears during a break in the storm clouds on a rainy day in March.

The 750-foot observation tower was built for HemisFair '68, the 1968 World's Fair. Up to 1996, it was the tallest observation tower in the United States. It still resides as the tallest building in San Antonio and the tallest building in Texas, not including the greater metropolitan cites of Dallas or Houston.
