The downtown San Antonio flagship store of Joske's sits vacant on Commerce Street. Since 1887, the Joske's department store building has sit at this location at the intersection of Alamo and Commerce Streets in Alamo Plaza. In 1936, this location became the first fully air-conditioned store in Texas. Three years later, the Art Deco facade was added. Unfortunately, for over half a decade, this building has sat empty.
